Everything You Need to Know About Perth Tile Installation

Members of the Architecture and Design Community continue to demand high performance from ceramic tiles and beautiful stone installations specified in their projects. At present, professionals, special contractors are asked to install these finishes in more places than the usual "wet areas" generally characterized by commercial kitchens and bathrooms.

Tiles and stones can be used in almost any building space for functional purposes, or only for its beauty. If you are also planning to install tiles on your property then you can search for a professional tiling service in Perth through https://guntiling.com.au/ to do the job for you.  However, due to the increasing use of tiles and stones in commercial interiors, builders must adjust the way the structure is designed and built under ceramic tiles and stone applications.

Structural requirements for installation

Before any work begins, the surface must be stiff enough to hold tiles or stones. The substrate needs to meet the maximum allowable deflection for the finish and the installation system that will be installed. Deflection is the potential movement that the installation may experience when subjected to load and use.

Ceramic tiles and stones are very rigid and thus will not be able to handle excessive movement in the substrate. All substrates therefore should meet the maximum allowable deflection rating of L/360 for ceramic tile and L/720 for stone applications installed over wood-framed constructs. Some adhesive manufacturers will allow an L/480 deflection standard for stone applications.
