Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) is the military field of dealing with the threat posed by explosive weapons, such as landmines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other hazardous ordnance. The EOD Army is responsible for detecting, rendering safe, and disposing of all explosive threats. 

Mission: The primary mission of the EOD Army is to provide expert technical advice and operational support to the military and civilian authorities concerning the detection, identification, assessment, rendering safe, recovery and uxo disposal of explosive ordnance. This includes responding to battlefield threats, hazardous material incidents, suspicious packages, unexploded ordnance, and other threats to public safety. 

Training: The EOD Army is composed of highly trained personnel who are experts in the handling of explosive ordnance. EOD personnel receive specialized training in explosive ordnance disposal techniques, tactics, and procedures. This includes learning how to recognize and identify different types of explosive ordnance, as well as how to safely dispose of them. 

Equipment: The EOD Army is equipped with a variety of specialized tools and equipment to ensure the safe handling of explosive ordnance. This includes bomb suits, robots, x-ray systems, and other specialized tools. EOD personnel also have access to specialized vehicles and aircraft to transport personnel and equipment to the scene of an incident. 

Protocols: EOD personnel must adhere to strict protocols when dealing with explosive ordnance. This includes safety protocols such as properly wearing protective equipment and maintaining communication with the command center. EOD personnel must also be able to identify the type of explosive ordnance in order to properly dispose of it.
